Patra pottali pind swed
Patra = leaves of medicinal plants
Pottali pind = bolus.
Sweda = Fomentation or sudation. .
Patra pottali pind swed is a form of sweat inducing (fomentation or sudation) therapy, which is given by using a bolus which is prepared by different combinations of medicinal leaves (like Nirgundi, Shigru, Shireesha, Arka, Neem,Eranda etc ) & is heated with medicinal oil & herbs. Thus it constitutes both snehan and swedan. This therapy is beneficial for pain & related issues, skin issues & for strengthening of muscles, joints & soft tissues.
Shirodhara
The word shirodhara originates from two Sanskrit words, Shiro (head) and dhara (flow). It is a form of treatment in which warm, herbalized Ayurvedic oil is poured onto the centre of the forehead where it flows in a continuous stream.The oil pour lasts approximately 30 minutes and is preceded by a head massage. Hrud basti
Hrud means heart & Hrud Basti or Hruddhara is pouring of medicated liquid in a well made out of dough around the heart area.The procedure improves the functioning and working ability of the heart. It stimulates the heart chakra. Hrud Basti tones the heart muscles & increases blood circulation in the heart thereby helping in an easy flow of blood.
Kati Basti
Kati means lower back or lumbosacral area & Kati basti is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment involving pouring of medicated liquid into a well made of dough around the Lower back area.Kati basti is recommended for musculoskeletal disorders in lumbosacral region e.g slip disc, lumbar spondylosis, sciatica or generalised pain & stiffness.
Nasyam
Nasyam is derived from Sanskrit word Nasa which refers to the nose and consists of administering medicine (medicated oil, juice extract or powders) into the nasal cavity. Netra Tarpan
Netra means eye and Tarpan means giving nourishment.This ancient Ayurvedic eye therapy is very soothing & nourishing for the eyes & surrounding tissues. The medicated liquid (oil, ghee or milk) is poured over the eyelids in an enclosure built around the eyes out of wheat flour dough. Netra tarpan is beneficial for dry & watery eyes, blurred vision, Conjunctivitis, Glaucoma.
